My House Was Demolished Without Compensation
Recently, my home was demolished by the Ethiopian government as part of a corridor development project. This decision was made without any prior warning, and shockingly, no compensation was offered for the loss of my property.
While I understand the government’s need to expand infrastructure, the complete disregard for those of us directly affected is heartbreaking. I have lost more than just a house — I lost a place filled with memories and the security of having a home. Despite living there for years, no alternative housing or financial assistance was provided to help me rebuild my life.
Now, I am left to start over from nothing, uncertain about what the future holds. But I am determined to seek justice and fair treatment for myself and others who have suffered the same fate.
