In the quiet, remote village of Omoringamu, Omosasa, nestled between two towering mountain peaks, the sound of children’s laughter momentarily breaks through the daily struggle of survival. Here, more than 10,000 people live with resilience and hope, despite facing dire challenges—most pressing of all, the lack of clean water.
A Ray of Hope
Recently, joy returned to Omoringamu when Hubert and the Love A Child team arrived, bringing food, books, pens, cooking oil, and most importantly—hope. Over 134 children received warm meals, their faces lit with joy as they tasted kindness. Many had walked miles through rough mountain paths—some with younger siblings on their backs—to receive nourishment, both physical and emotional.

For those too frail to make the journey, caring siblings saved food in bags to bring home, refusing to let anyone be forgotten. This is the heart of Omoringamu: a community bound by love, sacrifice, and unshakable faith.
The Urgent Need: Clean Water
But even as food is shared, clean water remains heartbreakingly out of reach. Cooking, washing, drinking—all of it depends on water carried from distant sources, often unsafe and insufficient. One evening while preparing supper, the team found themselves without a drop of water. It was a stark reminder of the daily struggle the people here endure. In desperation, they called on a local woman to deliver 100 bottles of water—a temporary fix for a permanent crisis.
“We lack water 💦 and the person we usually get it from doesn’t have the money to continue. We have already spoken with the drilling company, but we need help,” shared a ministry member.
The cost to drill a well and bring safe, reliable water to Omoringamu is $100,000—a steep price for a struggling community but a priceless gift for those who thirst.
A Call to Action
This is more than a plea. It’s an opportunity to change lives—to give children clean water to drink, mothers water to cook with, and families hope for a healthier tomorrow.
Heavenly Hope Ministry, dedicated to sharing the Word of God, caring for orphans, and helping forgotten communities, is taking a bold step forward. But they can’t do it alone.

💧 The goal: $100,000 to drill a life-saving well
🙏 The impact: Over 10,000 people served
💖 The message: Love is something you do.
Let’s come together as one family of faith and compassion. Let’s dig this well—not just into the ground, but into the hearts of those who have been waiting, praying, and believing.
Because no one should have to live without water.
Why Clean Water Matters: The Crisis Across Africa
The story of Omoringamu is not an isolated one. Across sub-Saharan Africa, over 400 million people still lack access to basic drinking water services, according to the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF. In many rural villages like Omoringamu, children and women walk 4 to 6 kilometers (2.5 to 4 miles) every day to fetch water, often from rivers or shallow holes that are contaminated and unsafe. This daily burden robs them of education, health, and opportunity.
Unsafe water leads to disease, malnutrition, and even death. In fact, waterborne illnesses are the leading cause of child mortality in Africa. Every day, over 1,000 children under the age of five die from preventable diseases like diarrhea, cholera, and dysentery—all linked to dirty water and poor sanitation.
But it doesn’t have to be this way.
What a Well Can Do
A single deep-water well can serve an entire community for decades. It can:
- Prevent disease by providing safe drinking water.
- Free up time for girls to attend school instead of collecting water.
- Support local farming and small businesses, boosting economic opportunity.
- Improve hygiene, reducing infections and improving dignity—especially for women and girls.
- Strengthen community resilience against climate change and drought.
In Omoringamu, where over 10,000 people live without reliable access to clean water, the construction of a well is more than just a project—it is a lifeline.
Once this well is drilled, no mother will have to boil muddy water before feeding her baby. No child will have to skip school to fetch water. No elderly person will have to go thirsty during dry months. Water will flow, and with it, life will return in full.
The Cost — and the Call
Drilling a well in remote, mountainous areas like Omoringamu is challenging and expensive. Heavy machinery must be transported across rough terrain, and the drilling process itself involves skilled labor, surveys, and deep boreholes that often go 100 to 300 feet below the surface to reach clean aquifers.
The total cost for a fully equipped well—including drilling, pump installation, protective housing, and training locals for maintenance—is $100,000.
This is a significant amount, but when divided by the 10,000 people it will serve, it comes down to just $10 per person for decades of clean, life-saving water. It’s a small investment with an immeasurable return.
