We Can Help Them: A Second Chance for a Life of Service | Emergency Support Campaign.

There are moments in life when helping someone isn’t just an act of kindness—it’s a responsibility we all share as human beings.

Today, we have that moment.

For over 30 years, Rev. Dr. Paul Mathivanan has dedicated his life to serving the most vulnerable—children who had no one else. In the remote and challenging regions of India, he and his wife built something extraordinary from nothing: a safe haven called Grace Children’s Home.

This wasn’t just an orphanage. It was a lifeline.

A Mission Born from Tragedy

The idea began after witnessing heartbreaking events—young children of migrant workers left alone in dangerous conditions, some losing their lives due to neglect and unsafe environments.

Instead of turning away, he stepped in.

With limited resources but unwavering faith, he created a home where children could be safe, educated, and loved.

Changing Lives—One Child at a Time

Between 1998 and 2016, more than 210 children found hope through Grace Home.

These were:

  • Orphaned and abandoned children
  • Girls at risk of exploitation
  • Children from extreme poverty
  • Children of migrant laborers
  • Families affected by illness and hardship

And the impact?

  • Over 90% became self-reliant adults
  • Many completed college, vocational training, and professional degrees
  • Some are now teachers, nurses, engineers, and community leaders
  • Not a single child returned to the life they were rescued from

That’s not just success—that’s transformation.

The Hidden Cost of Compassion

But behind this incredible impact lies a painful truth.

For years, the work continued without stable funding. Rent, food, education, and daily care were provided through sacrifice—often at the cost of personal financial stability.

Eventually, the burden became too heavy.

Despite selling personal assets and even closing the home in 2016, a large amount of unpaid rent accumulated over time. Today, that burden has turned into a crisis.

The Emergency We Cannot Ignore

Right now, Rev. Paul and his family are facing:

  • Severe rent arrears
  • Threat of eviction
  • Legal and financial distress
  • Emotional exhaustion after 15+ years of struggle

The total amount needed to resolve this crisis is approximately:

👉 $17,000 USD

This isn’t for starting a new project.
This is to settle the past sacrifices made while helping others.

Why This Matters

This story isn’t just about one man.

It’s about:

  • A lifetime of service
  • Children who were given a future
  • A mission that changed generations

Now, the person who gave everything is the one in need.

And this is where we come in.

We Can Help Them

Imagine what happens if we don’t act:

  • A humanitarian worker loses his home
  • A family remains separated and unstable
  • A legacy of service ends in hardship

But imagine what happens if we do:

  • A family regains stability
  • A burden carried for 15 years is lifted
  • A life of service is honored, not forgotten

Final Thought

Sometimes, the people who spend their lives saving others are the ones quietly suffering.

They don’t ask for help easily.

But when they finally do… we should listen.

Because in helping them, we remind the world that compassion still exists.
