My name is Ngerebo Walter, and I am creating this fundraiser on behalf of Ebube, the 10-year-old son of my dear friend, Lilian, who has had bow legs (genu varum) since birth.
From the moment Ebube took his first steps, it became clear that something was wrong. While other children learned to run, jump, and play without difficulty, every step for Ebube was a struggle. What should have been a joyful part of childhood became a daily challenge.
As he has grown, the condition has progressively affected his mobility. Walking long distances is difficult, standing for extended periods is painful, and participating in school activities and playing with other children has become increasingly challenging. Yet, through it all, Ebube has shown remarkable courage and resilience.
He is a bright, cheerful, and determined young boy who loves going to school and dreams of living a normal, active life. Like every child, he deserves the opportunity to move freely, play without pain, and pursue his future without being limited by a condition that can be corrected.
Following medical evaluations by orthopedic specialists, doctors have recommended corrective surgery to straighten his legs and improve his ability to walk. The surgery is time-sensitive, and the current summer holiday provides the best opportunity for him to undergo treatment, recover, and return to school in September.
The total cost of the surgeries, hospital care, medical investigations, medications, physiotherapy, and rehabilitation is approximately ₦10,000,000. Unfortunately, this amount is far beyond what Ebube's family can raise on their own. Despite their best efforts over the years, they have reached a point where they can no longer meet the financial demands of the treatment.
We have chosen to seek help through this online fundraiser because it offers compassionate people from around the world the opportunity to make a life-changing difference. Every donation, regardless of the amount, brings Ebube one step closer to receiving the treatment he urgently needs.
