St. Peters Church was demolished on 9th August 2018 by a city tycoon in Kampala with an aim of grabbing and stealing Church land, after he faked the land title and corrupting various officials in different government authorities which led to a vague court ruling that gave him ownership of the land. The church rightfully and lawfully owns this land and has occupied it for more than 40 years. There has been lawsuits in courts of law for now 6 years since the demolition which has left our Church constrained financially and the Church Attorneys have for some time and to some extent been patient with the Church while providing their services on a non cash basis, but they have reached a limit, with currently Shs 18.4M owed to the Attorneys. The Church has tried to reduce this debt from Shs35M and cover some costs but there is still more need for funds to facilitate the court processes. Besides the financial constraints, God has been good on our side as the status of these lawsuits is favoring the Church and there is great hope the Church will win and be restored. We are kindly asking for well-wishers to join us in saving this Church from the land grabbers and continue its operations and works which were beneficial to the communities around the Church and even beyond the Church locality.
