Help Our Sheldon

Hi! My name is Sheldon (Our Shelly when I'm being cute). I am a 1-year-old Basset x Daxie boy. I didn't have a very good start in life and eventually me and my mommy Penny were removed and given to my new family to foster. But I was so cute they had no choice but to keep me forever 🙂 I'm very active, I love to play with my family and my brothers and sisters (all rescues). I especially love to destroy teddy bears that could harm my family! Hehe. But as I've gotten older, I've had to slow down, and my family didn't know why until they took me to the vet. I have beautiful ballerina legs, but they were told they're actually the reason why I am slowing down. It's called Angular Limb Deformity, and it's happened in both of my front legs. It means crooked leg which happens when a bone bends or twists to the side instead of growing. It also means I have started to limp and have pain. Luckily there is a way to fix me. It just means a VERY big operation on both my legs. It took my family a while to find someone who could also do the surgery – eventually they were able to find a specialist at Fourways Veterinary Clinic who can do the surgery to fix me BUT we need to have it done as soon as possible. While my bones are still growing the surgery will be easier and the healing will be better. If they wait too long, they might not be able to do the surgery, and I will have constant pain and discomfort. Mom and dad and the rest of the family would love to do the surgery tomorrow but unfortunately, it's very costly. And although they're going to save save save and do everything they can to find the funds it's still +- R25 000 per leg and I need to have both legs done. So, we're reaching out to ask from the very bottom of our hearts for all the help we can get to raise enough money to have his surgery to get him back to his bubbly fun energetic self. Every rand will make a difference and Sheldon will get to continue playing with his family. We appreciate every share, every cent.
