After the Storm: Help Stray Animals

After the Storm: Help Us Care for Silver Spring’s Forgotten Animals 🐾

On July 19, a powerful and unexpected storm tore through Silver Spring, flooding streets, backyards, and homes in just a matter of hours. In the chaos, while many families scrambled for safety, dozens of stray and outdoor animals were left behind—confused, injured, soaked, and afraid.

In the days since, I’ve seen heartbreaking scenes:
Dogs limping down flooded alleys with cuts on their paws…
Cats soaked to the bone, trembling under broken fences and debris…
Small animals huddled in corners, too scared to move.

Local shelters are overwhelmed. Some are beyond capacity, turning away animals because there’s simply no more room. These animals have no voice, no home, and—unless we step in—no hope.

That’s why I’ve started this grassroots fundraiser. With your help, I’m working to provide:

  • Emergency food and clean water for abandoned and hungry animals

  • Warm blankets and crates to offer safety and comfort

  • First-aid kits and vet care to treat injuries and infections

  • Temporary shelter or foster placement until they can find a home

Every dollar counts. Truly.
Even $5 can buy a can of food or antibiotic cream for a wound.
$20 can provide a blanket, a bowl, and food for several days.
And sharing this story could help us reach the person who can help even more.

I can’t do this alone. But I believe in the power of community—and in the kindness of strangers who care for the voiceless.

If you’ve ever loved a pet… if you believe every animal deserves a second chance… please consider donating or sharing.

Let’s be the shelter after the storm.
Because these animals are still out there. And they’re waiting—for help, for healing, for hope.

Thank you for being part of their rescue. 🐶🐱💔
With gratitude and paws crossed,

On July 19, a powerful storm hit Silver Spring, flooding streets, homes, and backyards in just a couple of hours. As the community works to recover, many stray animals have been left behind—wet, scared, injured, and with nowhere to go.

I’ve seen dogs limping through alleys, cats hiding under debris, and shelters already filled beyond capacity. I’m doing what I can to help, but the need is bigger than me.

I’m raising funds to buy food, blankets, first-aid supplies, and safe shelter for these animals until they can be placed or returned to health.
Even $5 can feed a stray or help treat a wound.

If you can’t donate, sharing this story means just as much.

Thank you for being their shelter after the storm. 🐾
