I hope this message finds you well. My name is Shan Victor, and I am the father of a brave little boy named Ethan Lorenzo, just 3 years old. I’m writing this with a heavy heart, hoping and praying for your compassion and support.
Ethan has been diagnosed with a rare and devastating genetic disorder called Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD) due to ARSA mutations. This cruel disease is slowly taking away his ability to move, eat, and even breathe freely.
Just a few months ago, Ethan was an active and joyful child. Today, he is facing the heartbreaking symptoms of this condition:

Difficulty swallowing and feeding

Chronic constipation and urinary issues

Frequent respiratory infections and pneumonia

Developmental regression and neurological decline
We are from Karachi, Pakistan, and after seeking medical advice locally, we were referred to The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) in the USA—a world-renowned center for treating MLD. Their Leukodystrophy Multidisciplinary Team has offered hope through intensive evaluations and a personalized treatment plan that includes:
