A Young Tunisian’s Dream… From Debt to Dignity

A Young Tunisian’s Dream… From Debt to Dignity

Peace be upon you,
I am a young Tunisian from a middle-class family. My parents have 7 children, and I am the only son.
After finishing my university studies, I decided to continue at Holberton School through the installment system (kebyalet). This decision carried a heavy responsibility, because my father promised me that I would pay back these installments after graduation. The amount was around 35 million over 5 years.
Throughout my studies, I lived under intense psychological and financial pressure. I kept borrowing from here and there, paying back the debt only to borrow again. I watched my friends live normal lives while I carried a heavy burden. After graduation, I started working as a freelancer so I could pay off my debts and support my family at the same time. But reality turned out to be harsher than I expected.
Today I am stuck in a vicious cycle:

I borrow to pay rent and daily expenses.
I borrow to buy what I need for work (computer, internet, etc.).
I try to help my siblings and family as much as I can.
My father no longer gives me pocket money after graduation, which is normal because I am now a man.
Some days I reach the point where I don’t even have enough to eat.

I carry a huge responsibility on my shoulders, and sometimes I feel I have reached a stage of despair. But I still believe I can get out of this crisis if I receive real help that ends this vicious cycle once and for all.
I am not asking for charity. I am asking for a chance. A chance to finish my debts, stand on my own feet, start a dignified life, and become a real support for my family instead of a burden on them.
Every contribution, no matter how small, will bring me one step closer to freedom.
Thank you for any support.
