Help Us Give 200 Kids a Safe Space to Learn, Create, and Hope Again.
Last week, I met a 12-year-old girl named Nambii Alice outside my store in Medellín. He was selling small handmade bracelets on the street after school. When I asked why, she stayed quietly, “If she don’t sell them, her little brother Junior doesn’t eat dinner.”
Nambi isn’t alone. In our community, dozens of kids spend their afternoons working, not because they want to, but because their families have no other choice. The local youth center closed last month when funding ran out. Since then, the peach has become the only place for kids to gather — and it’s not safe.
We’re asking for $20,000 to reopen and run a community hub for the next 12 months. This isn’t just a building. It’s a promise to give vulnerable kids, youth, and young creatives a place to belong.

GIVE THEM A SAFE PLACE
DON’T LET HOPE DIE
Here’s exactly what $20,000 will do:
1. For the vulnerable kids: Safety, food, and homework help
– Daily hot meals for 60 kids after school
– A quiet space with tutors to help them keep up with schoolwork
– Safe adult supervision so parents can work without worrying
2. For the youth: Skills and a path forward
– Free workshops in basic computer skills, English, and financial literacy
– Job-readiness training with local businesses so teens can find legal, stable work
– Mentorship from community members who’ve been where they are
3. For the creatives: A place to build something of their own
– A small studio with art supplies, sewing machines, and recording equipment
– Weekly sessions with local artists and musicians who volunteer their time
– Help turning their crafts into small businesses, so they can earn without leaving school
We’ve already secured the space and a team of 8 volunteers. What we’re missing is the funding to keep the lights on, buy materials, and pay for food and basic supplies.
$20,000 covers everything for a year. That’s $33 per child per month to give them a meal, a safe place, and a chance to dream beyond the street corner.
I’ve seen what happens when kids get one person who believes in them. Nambii Alice now comes to our temporary tutoring sessions twice a week. He still sells bracelets, but last Friday told me he wants to be a graphic designer.
Imagine what happens when 200 kids get that same chance.
If you can give $25, $100, or $1,000, you’re not just donating. You’re giving a kid a meal tonight, a skill for tomorrow, and hope for the future.
How You Can Help
$25 — provides meals for a child
$100 — supports tutoring and learning materials
$1,000 — helps keep the center running
