Why Mombasa?
Mombasa County has a growing youth population and increasing demand for digital skills. However, many girls from informal settlements and low-income communities continue to face barriers that limit their access to education, technology, and employment opportunities.
The project will focus on reaching girls from vulnerable communities, including:
Girls from low-income households.
Survivors of gender-based violence.
Girls affected by early and forced marriage.
School dropouts seeking a second chance.
Young women facing unemployment and social exclusion.
By providing access to digital skills training and employment pathways, the project will help bridge the digital divide and create opportunities for long-term economic empowerment.
Expected Impact in Mombasa County by December 2026
1,001 girls trained in digital literacy and technology skills.
1,001 girls gain access to mentorship and career guidance.
At least 500 graduates connected to internships, apprenticeships, freelance opportunities, or formal employment.
Increased participation of girls in STEM and digital careers.
Improved economic resilience among vulnerable households.
Stronger community awareness of the importance of girls' education and digital inclusion.
