My name is Vhutshilo, and I’m a film editor who has been unemployed since October 2025.
For years, editing was not just my career — it was how I supported everyone who depends on me. I am the sole provider for my wife, my retired father who survives on a pension, my mother who is unemployed, and my two siblings.
When I lost my job, everything began to collapse financially.
I tried everything I could to stay afloat. I searched for work, took on whatever opportunities I could find, and tried to keep up with debt and monthly responsibilities. But eventually, I fell behind.
Since then, I have lost both of my cars, accumulated overwhelming debt, and even lost the editing equipment that allowed me to work and earn an income. Losing my tools was one of the hardest blows because it also took away my ability to freelance and rebuild independently.
This has affected every part of my life — financially, emotionally, and professionally.
I am not asking for luxury or comfort. I am asking for a chance to stabilize my family and rebuild my career so I can work again and become financially independent once more.
Funds raised will help with:
Essential living expenses
Food and transport
Debt relief and overdue bills
Replacing critical editing equipment
Internet and software needed for freelance work
Rebuilding a basic professional setup so I can apply for jobs and freelance opportunities again
I am actively searching for employment and freelance editing work every day. My goal is not to depend on donations forever — it is to get back on my feet and provide for my family again.
If you are unable to donate, sharing this campaign would mean just as much to me.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any support you can offer.
