A Basic Need That Cannot Wait
For many of us, having access to a clean, safe and decent toilet is something we rarely think about. We simply walk into a bathroom when we need one.
But for the people of Kponkpo Community, proper sanitation remains a serious challenge.
Approximately 400 people are affected by the lack of adequate toilet facilities. Children, women, men, the elderly and vulnerable members of the community all deserve access to a safe and dignified place to attend to one of life's most basic needs.
No community should have to live without proper sanitation.
The absence of adequate toilet facilities is not merely an inconvenience. Poor sanitation can contribute to the spread of disease, environmental contamination and unsafe living conditions. It also affects the dignity and wellbeing of families, particularly children and vulnerable people.
WE HAVE A PLAN
We are seeking to raise US$27,000 to construct two modern 20-seater toilet facilities, providing a total of 40 toilet seats for the community.
These facilities will be designed to provide a cleaner, safer and more dignified sanitation environment for approximately 400 people.
