For many families, losing a job is more than losing an income—it means losing stability, security, and peace of mind. Today, my family is living through that difficult reality, and with humility, I am reaching out for help.
My name is Sanet, and I never imagined I would have to ask strangers for financial assistance. However, after exhausting every other option, I have come here with hope and faith.
Four months ago, my husband was retrenched from the company where he faithfully worked for many years. Although his employer provided a retrenchment package, those funds have now been completely used to cover our daily living expenses and monthly obligations. Since then, he has tirelessly searched for employment, submitting applications and attending interviews whenever possible. Unfortunately, at 54 years old, finding a new job has proven to be incredibly difficult.
To help support our family, I run a small business from home. While I am grateful for every customer, the income is simply not enough to cover our basic monthly expenses. Most days, it only provides enough to keep food on our table, leaving nothing for rent, electricity, medical insurance, transportation, and other essential bills.
Today, we are facing one of the most difficult seasons of our lives. We are behind on our financial responsibilities, and without immediate assistance, we fear losing the stability we have worked so hard to build. The stress and uncertainty weigh heavily on our family every day.
We are seeking to raise $5,000 to help us cover:
- Rent and housing expenses
- Electricity and utility bills
- Medical insurance payments
- Groceries and daily necessities
- Transportation while my husband continues his job search
- Basic household expenses until stable employment is secured
